Being in Hong Kong, subjects you to different varieties of food, I really mean DIFFERENT varieties of food. In my first month here, I was little apprehensive about what to eat, but then I really got used to it, thinking that if the highest populated country can eat this nonsense, why can't I!
Still, every now and then, I come across some weird stuff that I really wish I shouldn't have tried, but then hey, thats life. So far, the list of forbidden foods contain golden shrimp, fried pigeon and chicken feet (yes, they eat that here)
Finally, it comes to deciding where are you going to draw a line. I have set 3 ground rules for myself, which I hope will lead me to better decisions while choosing my food:
1. Anything I eat, should be dead before I eat it. I don't want it to go aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa in my throat, or even worst, in my stomach.
2. It should not be looking at me while I eat it. I know, I am dead from inside because I eat everything. But if it is looking at me, I just feel too bad, I feel it would be cursing me and I will go to hell or something.
3. You don't have to tell me what it is. I will eat it as long as it tastes and smells ok. You can tell me what it is after I am done eating and digesting it.
Having said that, I think its fun. Its a thrill. I don't think I would have done this anywhere else. I am feeling lucky!
