someone

Sometimes you just need someone,
Someone to make you smile when you're sad,
Someone to look at you in the eye,
Someone to
tell you you're beautiful,
Someone to talk to for hours and never say goodbye.

Someone to
hold you and take your sorrows away,
Someone to call you every night,
Someone to look forward to seeing everyday,
Someone to say i love you and mean it.
Sometimes you just need someone.

.equals() and ==

After writing buggy code time and again by wrong usage of .equals and ==, here I am writing about it.

Both check the equality, both return a boolean, but but but...
.equals() is for value equality while == is for object equality. To make it clear, .equals() checks if both the objects have same value and == checks if both objects point to the same memory location.

Make sure that you use the two correctly according to the needs. Its obvious that checking of non null values is to be done by == operator, otherwise for null conditions, it is sure to throw a null pointer exception. Also, if you are checking a concrete value with a variable, make sure the concrete value is the first variable in case of .equals(). That will save you from a few null pointer exceptions.

Waste of resources

Well... I know its a no. 1 financial firm known for its IT on Wall Street. But frankly, do they need that kind of expertise? Grilling someone in 10 rounds of technical interview is not funny. Anyways, they take a person who have worked on log4j and make him work on XYLog. If all they need is a person to work on AXB, why cant they take a bloody commerce graduate and teach them that shit. Where are the core java strength applied in that???

Most importantly, what will be your value once you get out of the firm? Nobody knows/uses their proprietary products. So, at the end of whatever years at the firm, you will be still a rookie at core technology. And after knowing/experiencing this, you can't really blame the people for the high attrition level.

Thanks god at least I get to work on core java. As long as that happens, I am happy.

Growing up

When you are a child, you are a little bit of everything.... scientist, artist, athlete, scholar. Growing up is a process of giving up all of these, one by one...

I remember, when I was small, there used to be so many things to do. Paintings, dancing, sports, running through the rains with your arms stretched and feeling the wind going past your ears, getting lost in your world without being bothered about anyone around, about future, about responsibilities. There were so many things that we could do then, yet so many things that couldn't be done, so many of them were left out at that point of time, just because we were too lazy to continue, things that we regret later on.

I wish if I could play some instrument. Music is such a wonderful thing. I wish if I could create some for myself. That would have been amazing. Whenever I am too frustrated with work, fucked in my head for some reason, I just listen to some good music. It works wonder. Kinda helps me meditate, calms me down. There is stuff that can make me feel happy from inside, stuff that can make me swing to its tunes and stuff that can make me cry, miss someone...

Listening to maaeri now. Such a beautiful song...
