Down the memory lane

You know when you realize that you have become old... When you ponder over the things of past with your friends and say... awwweeeee... those were the days!!! Been happening very often lately. Me, Nilu and Sujit had gone for dinner at Tandoor Shack the other day. Being with these two is like being totally myself. No masks, no pretense. We talked about things of past, how we used to call all the kids having same school timings (proper गोतावळा जमा करून) and then walk to school.

Also the uselessness of whatever we studied in school. The huge geography book that we used to have. We started from Mumbai, Maharahtra, India and then the whole world as far as social sciences were concerned. And how we used to hate every single thing in those. I mean come on, what did I ever get of knowing what kind of houses do red Indians live in or what crop comes out of Bihar. Those French revolution theories and the thousand pacts some XYZ person made with some ABC prior to Indian independence simply used to kill me! We had a question about putting the events in chronological order. How am I benefiting from it now????

And Nilu's uniform always used to be of wrong color!!! Somehow her dad never understood that the color was persian blue and not navy blue. Sujit used to be a small cute boy who eventually outgrew each and every one of us, literally. And finally, we never figured out what is tropic of Capricorn called in Marathi. And which one exactly is वीश्ववृत्त/वीशमवृत्त whatever!
